The FCI Product Certification System
FCI's certification system is designed to provide product conformity certification through a range of approved certification schemes. Each scheme provides a holistic approach to the production of certified products. This includes product specifications, from which a level of quality can be assessed, standards for all aspects of the production processes, the production environment and the system for the control of product quality.
There is a strong emphasis on total commitment to the maintenance of product quality with all certified products being fully traceable throughout the production and distribution chain.
The system of control is aimed at ensuring conformance with the requirements set out in the Quality Manual for each certification scheme, detecting any non-compliance and implementing the means to prevent reoccurrence.
Certification is demonstrated by means of a Certificate of Approval which is valid for 12 months from the date of issue with renewal being dependent on continuing satisfactory performance measured against the requirements of the relevant scheme.
The Product Certification Schemes currently operated by FCI are available to all applicants whose activities fall within the relevant field of operation as defined in the relevant Scheme description pages.
